SLM Simulation and MonteCarlo Path Tracing for Computer-Generated Holograms

چکیده
Abstract Computer holography is a growing research field that must pay attention to two main issues concerning computing effort: the visualization of 3D virtual scene with photo-realistic quality and bottleneck related hologram digitizalition limits. This work shows computational approach based on Monte Carlo path-tracing algorithm, which accounts for both geometrical physical phenomena involved in generation, and, therefore, makes feasible estimation time costs. As these holograms also require yet unavailable devices, their behavior needs be simulated by computer techniques.

Nonlinear computer-generated holograms.
We propose a novel technique for arbitrary wavefront shaping in quadratic nonlinear crystals by introducing the concept of computer-generated holograms (CGHs) into the nonlinear optical regime. We demonstrate the method experimentally showing a conversion of a fundamental Gaussian beam pump light into the first three Hermite-Gaussian beams at the second harmonic in a stoichiometric lithium tant...
متن کاملComputer generated holograms for testing optical elements.
The application of computer generated holograms to the interferometric testing of aspheric optical elements has been investigated, and it has been shown that they provide a convenient and practical method of producing an aspheric reference wavefront.

An novel algorithm for computing holographic fringe patterns based on nonuniform sampling is described. We show both analytically and via simulation that nonuniform sampling reduces the number of samples required to repr...
متن کاملForm-birefringent computer-generated holograms.
Polarization-selective computer-generated holograms made with form-birefringent nanostructures were designed, fabricated, and evaluated experimentally at 1.5 microm. The fabricated element showed a large polarization contrast ratio (>250:1) and a high diffraction efficiency (>40% for a binary phase level element). The experimental evaluation was in good agreement with the design and modeling pr...
متن کاملSingle-substrate birefringent computer-generated holograms.
A polarization-selective computer-generated hologram fabricated upon a single substrate of birefringent YVO(4) crystal is demonstrated. Rigorous couple-wave analysis was used to model the element. The experimentally measured first diffraction order showed a close-to-theoretically predicted diffraction efficiency of 39%. The polarization contrast ratio was measured to be 33:1.
